Orkney Folk Festival
We are delighted to be continuing our support of the Orkney Folk Festival again this year.

MADISON RUSSELL
d and h are proud to sponsor Orcadian Highland Dancer, Madison Russell.
Last year, Madison travelled to 10 competitions in Thurso, Wick, Newport on Tay and Inverness. One of which was her first pre-championship of the year in July, which she won!
Madison is currently studying towards her Teachers Award which will allow her to be a qualified highland dance teacher and teach others.
During 2026 Madison is hoping to compete in all the standard Caithness competitions and if possible, compete in her first Championship competition.
We wish her every success!
Kirkwall Open Triples
The Kirkwall Bowling Club hosted the Kirkwall Open Triples on the 3rd and 4th August 2019. 32 teams entered, from as far as Aberfeldy to Shetland.
The overall winning team was from St Fergus Bowling Club in Wick (Malky Mackay, Graham Bain and Andrew Adamson) who beat (John Rendall, Rita Smith and Freda Swanney) from Kirkwall bowling Club.
There was also "the plate" to be played for and this was won by the Kirkwall Bowling Club (Mark Causer, James Muir and Matthew Causer) who beat St Margaret’s Hope Bowling Club (Graham Anderton, Colin Parker and Stuart Taylor).
d and h was proud to be one of the the organisations sponsoring a very enjoyable weekend.
Halkirk Highland Games Scotland
Congratulations to winner Scott Rider from Dartford with a throw of 82 feet 7 inches. Scott is a former world highland games heavywright champion and represented England in the Commonwealth Games at the shot putt. He beat the current world heavyweight champion Vladislav Tulacek from the Czech Republic who ended second with a throw of 77 feet 10 inches. Scott competes all over Scotland in the Highland Games circuit.
Serena and Lauren were delighted to represent the firm at the games and (as part of sponsoring the games) being given the honour to present the NNC cup to Scott as overall champion.

We were delighted to be an event sponsor at the 37th Orkney Folk Festival. Members of our team thoroughly enjoyed a number of the events during another record breaking festival.
County Pool - Women's "B" Side
Congratulations to Orkney's Women's "B" side (sponsored by d and h) who won the "B" cup in the recently held Annual Inter-County Pool Fixtures competition.
